About
Dating back to the 18th century, this charming Baltimore district has cobblestone streets and a thriving culture by the waterfront. Wander through its quaint streets as you discover craft and antique shops, coffee houses and art galleries, then treat yourself to fresh seafood or a yummy burger at the Broadway Market. After dark, more than 100 pubs await you.
Fell’s Point is a short drive from downtown Baltimore, but you can take a water taxi from the Inner Harbor for a more unique experience. You can also join a food, historic, or haunted pub tour to discover the district's hidden gems.

- Roberts69Northampton, United Kingdom18,252 contributionsA pleasant and attractive part of Baltimore.Fell's Point is a historic waterfront neighborhood in southeastern Baltimore, Maryland. It was established around 1763 and is a pleasant and attractive place, walking the cobbled streets and taking refreshments at one of the many cafe's or bars in the area. I can recommend a visit to Pitango Pastry for coffee and cake! See my separate review.Visited November 2022Written 12 December 2022
- LonsoHuntingdon, Pennsylvania176 contributionsLucked OutI had a really good time. Overall, the area is nice with lots of shops and restaurants. Very touristy. Along with the good and bad that comes with such an area. I went during the 4th of July holiday, and the area was way more empty then normal....so that was a "plus" in my book. I'm sue I would've liked it less if it was overcrowded. I would go back, if friends wanted to, otherwise I've been there, and once is fine with me.Visited July 2022Written 15 December 2022
- Roger PerryScranton, Pennsylvania9 contributionsFells Point is a vibrant area to visitSuch a vibrant area. We hit at fall festival time so we had brews and liquor with live entertainment in a the park area. Such a fun time. Also an outdoor flea market near the food market. All stores, bars, restaurants were open and accommodating. "Horse you came in on" Saloon was very cool with merch for sale and more live entertainment. Very reasonable prices. Lunch at 'Twist Fells Point" was absolutely delicious. Shrimp and crab entrees along with a side of polenta were our choice. Breakfast at Blue Moon was so quirky with fun staff. Definitely shop, dine and stay in Fells Point if you have a chanceVisited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 September 2023

This harbor is absolutely breathtaking and offers so many things to do. There are amazing resturants like Penny Black and Thamas Osyter house. There are historical places to visit, they have a ghost tour, tattoo studio, bars, everything! Make sure to take some time to visit!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 October 2023

You will experience Baltimore when you visit Fell's Point. So much history, so much interesting shops. So much food choices - crab cakes, mussels.

Although there is a dense and sizable patch of beautiful historical buildings in nicely restored condition, the harbor itself offers but dismal and rank panorama, and the commercial establishments have yet to recover from COVID’s onslaught.

What is the best way to day trip from Bloomingdale, Washington to Fells Point?
mwclark12
San Francisco, CA24 contributions
I don't know why you would want to do only one day if you travel from Bloomingdale WA or Plano, TX. There is so much to do here you could easily spend several days in the area and to spend the money traveling does not make sense. Perhaps you have a long layover at BWI Airport so if that is the case, you can take the light rail to the Convention Center stop and go right from there. There are free color coded buses that could get you there or near there. I would check on the internet about the public transit in Baltimore and you will find a route map for Fells Point.

How far is it from Fell's Point (say, from the Cat's Eye, or Slainte on Thames Street) over to Canton? Is it within walking distance?
rbourn
Baltimore, MD35 contributions
I'd agree, just about a mile to Canton Square. You can walk the promenade (it gets a bit tricky to follow at one point), but it goes right along the waterline for the most part. Very safe in the day, maybe not as much at night.

Try Groupon or Living Social for coupons or if you are traveling weekdays before 7 pm, try Harbor Connector for FREE. Google harbor connector or charmcitycirculator. Enjoy Fells Point!

I'm considering visiting Fells Point/Inner Harbor with my sister for a kid free weekend and doing one of the Ghost Tours. We are in our 30s. Any advice about the pub tour v. the regular tour? Thank you!
Herb L
Kingston, PA55 contributions
Agreed, the pub tour would be the way to go if you are "kid free". And Fell's Point is a fairly compact area and very "walkable" so that you can visit things you may have missed on the tour. A helpful hint would be to stop at the Fell's Point Visitors Center as they can provide you with a wealth of knowledge about the area and also have some interesting historic displays.

Can you walk from Inner Harbor to Fell's Point or is a water taxi required?

Depending on where you are walking from, it is not a long walk. We stayed at the Four Seasons in Harbor East and could have walked to Fells Point in 15 minutes. However, we wanted to go to Fort McHenry first so we took the Water Taxi.
