Located on the edge of Little Italy, this is a great spot to view our country's history. It is mostly indoors and can be done rain or shine. Afterwards it is a 5 minute walk to some of Little Italy's and Balltimore's best restaurants.

If you have 45 minutes to spare while visiting Baltimore I recommend taking the kids to the Flag House & 1812 Museum. Quick tour with a lot of information but not overwhelming.

Whether you take the trolley tour or go on your own, this spot offers an important look at our history. This is where the American flag was sewn for the site at Fort McHenry and it was that flag memorialized by Francis Scott Key.

Unfortunately, the day we were there, the house was closed, but we were able to go into the side yard and look around. They had a very cool map of the US, with all the states made out of their local stone. Each state was...More

Very cool to learn the history behind our NA, and see the house where inspiring flag was made! A must for all Patriots!

We all know about Betsy Ross, but you've never known about Mary Pickersgill. You will soon! Betsy may have made the first flag, but Mary made the one that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner.

The house was closed, but the outside exhibit was interesting... The plaques and info gave us a good idea of what was going on....cool. (Not sure we needed to go in.) Really glad we stopped by. Again: This visit was not one of the categories...More

This is a great piece of American history that many people miss. You need to do the full guided tour to get the whole picture. They also have a really nice playroom for kids.

From reading the reviews, it seems as though our visit was on the wrong day. The museum was lackluster for the price and the video is old and outdated. As far as the house, there was no one to give a tour, we were given...More

I would say you could spend an hour in the museum and another half-hour/45 min in the Pickersgill house.
