While my kids do enjoy the playthings they are all very dirty. And the cost is prohibitive for a larger family like mine when we can go places for free and not be worried about what kind of germs are covering the equipment.

Hands on activities, for a low price. This Children's Museum is located above the Uppertown firefighters museum. So for one price you can go and see the old fire trucks and implements and photos of the Astoria fire, that decimated the town. There are dress up opportunities for kids to become firefighters, forest rangers, and native Americans (complete with a longhouse). Upstairs in the actual "Children's Museum" is a wide range of donated toys and dramatic play centers. One of the favorites is a miniature sailboat with life jackets. You can buy a one time pass or a year membership. It is the perfect place for a rainy winter afternoon.
