We came here several years ago and this year we were in the area and made sure we stopped again. This is a wonderful spot to get the feel of what it must have been like when the Lewis and Clark expedition spent the winter here near the mouth of the Columbia River. The visitor center is well though out... More

The visitor center provided good Lewis and Clark background. The recreated fort showed how they lived. The trail down to the river was beautiful. We had already visited the Lewis & Clark Salt Works in Seaside. We look forward to visiting Cape Disappointment on our Washington trip next year.

The location was random and unexpected but if you have an extra half hour, it's worth learning about the history of the US (especially if you are citizen) to learn. The location is beautiful and the staff was helpful and informative. Lots of beautiful greenery to enjoy history and a picnic lunch. We highly recommend buying the National Parks year... More

This is a nice little park just perfect for anyone who has an interest in Lewis & Clark. The Fort Clatsop visitor center is very well laid out with very interesting exhibits about Lewis & Clark and their journey. The replica of the fort was neat, but there's not much to see. The walk we took down to the river... More

We are big history fans and have both read the journals of Lewis and Clarke and we're excited to visit these sites and they did not disappoint !! We enjoyed the Fort Clapsop site the most, the visitor centre was so good, showing two excellent films alternately, the exhibit was well laid out and very informative as were the rangers... More

We stopped at the Fort Clatsop National Historic Park. This was a very interesting rebuilt fort depicting the Lewis and Clark winter encampment near the mouth of the Columbia River. There are rest rooms and a gift shop and rangers to give information and answer questions.

The park and exhibits are top notch. We enjoyed walking through the exhibits inside as much as the trails outside. Also got my Parks passport stamped-always a plus.

This is a series of state parks that are now also a National Park devoted to Lewis and Clark and their journey to the Pacific Ocean. The main park at Fort Clasop has a recreated fort. The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center on the Washington side of the River is more of a museum dedicated to the journey of these... More

Only visited Fort Clatsop, which is the only section under the control of the NPS. The trail to the fort reconstruction is quite short and well worth it.

There are several parks that make up the Lewis and Clark park system and they are all pretty incredible in their own way. The fort is cool, with a great little museum and interpretive trail. There are a couple of lighthouses that are just stunning and if you walk out on the jetty, you can see them both at once!... More
