Every time the Goonies movie (1985) has an anniversary, nostalgic fans flock to this sleepy little town of Astoria, Oregon. Instead of trying to visit the Goonies Home (now closed) I suggest you visit the Oregon Film Museum, at 732 Duane St, Astoria, 97103. Located in a historic old jail, there are lots of Goonies memorabilia, along with artifacts from... More

We were excited to learn more about one of our favorite Oregon films -- Goonies -- and it turns out that there are likely many movies you've seen that were filmed in Oregon. The space is cramped, the information minimal or difficult to experience. the one feature that would have intrigued younger children (7-12 age range is my guess) was... More

They have the Goonies Jeep here and if you buy the Heritage Pass at the Flavel Carriage House this stop is included with the Flavel House and Heritage Museum. We went to all three and this had the least to offer - but it's right across the street from the Flavel House so you might as well take it in.

We arrived just after they opened. I imagine this place could get crowded. It's not that big, but interesting. You can 'film' you own scene from a movie on 3 different sets. I had NO idea Oregon had so many films filmed here!

It was really small and $15 for a family of four. Just a bunch of old, falling apart props. You can make your own videos but we chose not to due to the dingy and lack of cleanliness. The largest part of the place was the overpriced gift shop.

I didn't realize how many movies had been made in Oregon. And how many of those I really loved growing up! They have a fun thing where you can film yourself doing scenes in a truck, at a table in a house, or the set from the Shining. You get 5 takes and they are sent to your email. A... More

My kids had a total blast at the Oregon Film Museum!! There were lots of fun photo ops (like mug shots and jail cells) and most importantly the opportunity to star in your own film! There were three different sets where we got to pick our own scrips (or ad lib), background to show up on the green screen, and... More

So much fun seeing all the different films that were filmed in Oregon and the Astoria area. From Kindergarten Cop to the most famous Goonies it is a must stop and see while you are in the Astoria area.
