We frequent the Jacksonville Zoo about 3-4 times a year and it never disappoints! The zoo is education focuses and the animals have ample room to roam and graze-no sad animals in a cage, which is very comforting to me as an environmental activist. I also admire how the zoo has so many education programs for children during the week.... More

The zoo is awesome - it is a great place to visit, located on a great piece of property and has a pretty darn good selection of plants and animals to see. It's certainly come a long way since I was a kid. We were there early in the day so we were able to see the alpha male lion... More

I have been to many zoos over the years from the famous St. Louis Zoo to the Columbus, Ohio Zoo to the Columbia, SC Zoo. The Jacksonville Zoo is another great one. Very large property. Lots to see and do. Well cared for animals including many in natural settings. Lots of parking. Never a bad season to visit.

I just went on Saturday, got in cheap thanks to community first credit union, $6. This was the perfect time of year, it was cool and all the animals were far more active than in summer. This zoo is so well set out with plenty space for the animals. Great and varied exhibits. The one thing lacking is a place... More

My wife and i have been to a few zoos but the jacksonville zoo and gardens are worth every penny. You can bring your own food or eat there and there is alot to see. They are putting money constantly into adding and renovations. See the zoo.

The dinosaur exhibit was awesome in 2015 but otherwise, it's just an average zoo. The food was ok. Don't expect good service.

My family frequents the Jacksonville Zoo. It is large, well organized, and has a lot to offer. The tiger exhibit lets tigers walk over the walk way and gets a really close up look a at the big, beautiful cats.

I had no idea this zoo would be so amazing! It was on a par with some of the more famous zoos I've visited in the United States. The animals are presented in natural looking settings and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. I will definitely be returning for a longer visit!

I have been meaning to go for years, as I have always heard good things. For variety of reasons didn't make it till lately when I went with friends. What a delightful zoo!. Relatively big open spaces fit for big animals. A delightful experience being able to feed the giraffes. Great location on the St. Johns River and great attention... More
