If you're seeking the natural beauty of the beach and ocean, I'd recomend one of the state parks or surrounding beaches. This beach is home to a lot of resturants, bars, and homeless, which you'll find at every Florida public beach.

Atlantic Beach is a delightful little sleepy beach town with fine restaurants and good bars and it's probably the closest thing we have in Florida to Newport Beach, California. You will enjoy this little piece of hidden Florida. The people are terrific! Go to Ragtime...More

Not only sunrises and surf but its nice and clean. So many nice restaurants near by, within in a block or two. The upgrades of the streets are nice and safe. Also its nightlife is fun with lots of restaurants/bars close by.

Excellent, pristine and unpopulated beach, stay at Ocean One if you can. The dining around the corner is fantastic!

Took a trip over Labor Day weekend to visit family. Atlantic Beach had lots of fabulous restarants to chose from, shops, bike and surf board rentals, etc. All within walking distance of our hotel, One Ocean Resort. Will be going back again!

As out-of-towners, it was hard for us to find this beach. The GPS would tell us we were there, but we couldn't see it. The beach is situated behind people's homes and you have beach access paths along the street. There was no public parking...More

Don't do it. From downtown Jacksonville to Hannah Park on a Friday afternoon will take two hours, if you know where you're going. It will even be difficult to go straight to Atlantic Beach at the foot of Atlantic Boulevard... More
