The only disappointment you will have visiting CIA is if you have not allowed enough time or have failed to make early reservations. To go to only one of their fine restaurants would be a dilemma. They are all that good. We have never been disappointed either with the food, the prices, or the service.

What a beautiful setting right along the Hudson. It is a beautiful campus with lovely fountains and view outside the main building. You can take a tour if you'd like, but we didn't have time. The students bustle about in the chef's jackets. They run some of the restaurants at times too. The gift shop is full of all sorts... More

The C.I.A. is well worth experiencing. The chefs and waiters are all students or faculty of the Institute and very serious about the whole experience. Each of the restaurants is beautiful to the eye. But the food is what it is all about. Every choice is excellent and the service is impeccable. We ordered appetizers, lunch and dessert and they... More

This was a nice way to see the vast facilities of the CIA. It's an amazing campus and well worth the time to stroll the grounds, take the tour then dine in one of the restaurants because you will get very hungry watching all that food being prepared!

We had confirmed reservations at the American Bounty on a Saturday evening. Other visits in the area found us nearby at 4:30 p.m. and called to check if there was any other availability at another of their restaurants. We were so very lucky to get in easily at the Italian Restaurant, Caterina. Just to be inside this magnificent structure is... More

Visiting the Culinary Institute of America in Spring time all the way from Australia was a magical experience. This was my 2nd visit to the Culinary and my favourite stop over, the Apple Pie Bakery served up beautiful pastries as per usual. Having dined at American Bounty and the Bocuse Restaurant during winter, I decided to dine at the Italian... More

We took a tour of the cooking school. The school is clearly very nice, but the tour was a little bit boring.

Perhaps it would have been better to plan the schedule around a lunch reservation at the excellent American Bounty restaurant, which I have done in the past. But this trip we were not sure about timing of our other Hudson Valley activities so decided to be spontaneous and eat at the cafe, no reservations. Waiting in line to get in... More

On this one hour tour, you will see kitchens in use and learn various facts as well as tidbits about the school & the culinary programs that are offered. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and my kids loved it. Why you are there - go visit the Apple Pie Cafe (run by the students as well as all of... More

We sat for two hours and it was grand, choices were very different and the menu was excellent. starters were mussels with a sausage and fennel taste to it, salad had baby kumquats with beets, and the short ribs were sweet and succulent, but saved room for the desert which was a red velvet cake with a cream sauce and...
