On May 19 2018 I booked the Jennie Wade House/Haunted orphanage tour for myself, and my family and I'm driving 2 hours away from Maryland, plus it was raining badly. I was told we had to be there 15 min prior to the 11pm start...More

This is one of Gettysburg really interesting places, Jennie Wade being the only civilian casualty of the war. Our guide was animated and well versed in his knowledge of the house. A must see on your visit to Gettysburg.

I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of information and the compassion displayed by the guide. The original doors with killing holes are in place. One goes through the dividing wall to escape. Well worth the time.

Service animals are permitted. However, the house is very small and has stairs. A stroller would not be feasible (very narrow).
