To be in the room where A. Lincoln wrote the final version of the Gettysburg Address. And to see the bed he slept in --- maybe.

Did the house tour on a recent trip to Gettysburg. Right in the center of town. Interesting to understand the history, and how it related to Lincoln's visit.

Right downtown on Lincoln Square (which is actually a circle). Judge Wills hosted President Abraham Lincoln on the night before he gave his famous " Gettysburg Address". Much improved since initial opening as part of National Park Service.

This attraction is privately owned and not part of the Gettysburg National Park - so there is an admission fee. This house is where Lincoln stayed the evening before his Gettysburg address. Downstairs is a very interesting display and explanation of what happened at the house and in the area as related to Lincoln's address. Upstairs are several rooms recreated... More

We wanted to see where Lincoln finished the Gettysburg Address. Never went in side, mainly a photo op and then shopping in the area.

This is a good spot to stop in and get some history without spending too much time. It's part of the National Park System and they have a Passport Stamp

We enjoy touring homes that have the atmosphere and decor of the time period they represent. This building is a museum with one bedroom depicting where Lincoln might have slept and the remaining rooms being glass cases of memorabilia.

Must see for all historians and non-historians. Lincoln stayed here the night before delivering his famous address. Wills was instrumental in securing 17 ac to bury dead from war.

We really enjoyed this visit. Details of the Gettysburg battlefield can be overwhelming and tedious. Yes Lincoln slept here before giving his Gettysburg Address. Here you can learn how people of the town responded to the battle that came to their town. Mr Willis a young influential man in the community was asked to find an appropriate final resting place... TWO STORY BLDG which was owned by lawyer, David Wills. President Lincoln finished writing his Gettysburg Address here, which he started writing in Washington prior to his arrival. Extremely interesting; much history to learn; moderate ticket fee.
