The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".

After the visitor center driving along the roads through the battlefield really brought the battle home and to life. Stopping along the way at various statues and monuments from each State was amazing.

It was a great tour. It has to be auto tour, it is very hard to walk around this park, it is big. We took self-guided tour. All stops are well labeled and with the map it is easy to navigate. The tour starts at the visitor center. Would recommend for sure. It is great educational tour, you will learn... More

This is one of the largest and best kept of the Battlefield National Parks. The driving tours are well mapped and easy to follow.

Start at the visitors center to get a map and view the film, museum and diorama exhibit. You can purchase self guided tour packs with CD for the care in the bookstore, schedule your own personal tour guide, take a bus tour or just hop in your car and follow the route. There are markers along the way to explain... More

Spectacular preservation of these battle fields! Much larger area than I thought it would be. We did auto tour and signs were very helpful getting us to the next stop. My jaw dropped multiple times visualizing what occurred here

I toured the Visitor's Center and Museum at the Gettysburg National Military Park. It was a great mix of artifacts, photos, write ups and videos. The Battle of Gettysburg is an interesting part of Pennsylvania history and the museum today did a great job of educating me about it. The $15 ticket including the Film, Cyclorama and Museum is worth... More

The NPS never fails to do an excellent job and here, they have a park partner that helps. The visitor center and tours are done by their foundation and consequently it appears the fees are high, but well worth it. The rangers are great and even if you do a self-guided auto tour you come away in awe. The commercial... More

I have visited the park several times. The park is very large & the history can be overwhelming, but it a well worthwhile trip. The new visitors center is quite an improvement from the one that preceded it and the park rangers couldn't be more helpful and informative.

I have been to several Civil War battlefields but this was by far the busiest! That alone speaks volumes. There was plenty of parking, which is a short walk to the visitor's center. That is a really well-done visit by itself. I purchased the bus tour ($35) and as well as the museum, film, and painting at the visitor's center... More
