To tell the truth up front, I'm not the biggest fan of zoos. I feel for the animals and wonder how well they are treated. However, Turtle Back is actually really nice. Yes, the enclosures could be bigger but the animals all looked really healthy...More

I had gone to Turtle Back Zoo in the early 1990s and it was rough around the edges. Aesthetically it wasn't very nice and the animals enclosures were tiny. However my family and I recently went and I was impressed with the transformation that had...More

So much to do at this charming little zoo. From not only seeing the animals but experiencing them in area such as feeding the birds in the aviary, petting sting-rays, visiting the petting zoo and riding ponies. They have late nights on Wednesdays and coming...More

Excellent small zoo, filled with a whole host of animals. Perfect for call ages, especially littles as it is easy to navigate. Ample Parking.

I used to go to the Turtle Back zoo when I was in elementary school, longer ago than I care to admit to. In the 90s, the TBZ had some challenges that almost led to its closure. I only mention this because if you visited...More

I was here many years ago, say 25. It was a dump then and I never came back with my kids nor grandsons. I had heard there were great improvements so we drove 1 1/2 hours to visit. It is just the right size for...More

The Turtle Back Zoo is always adding new and exciting exhibits. The lion and hyena exhibits that just opened are fantastic. Our perennial favorite is the parakeet walk through. The zoo is a perfect size to do in a day trip. Also very easy to...More

I love what the county has done for the zoo and the whole area for it's citizens. The zoo went from a run down attraction to the center piece of one of the best public park and recreation areas. Mini golf , paddle boats and...More

I'd say go early and your visit will be a much better experience. The zoo tends to get very crowded as the day goes on. So I'd say 2-3 hours is enough to see everything.
