Franklin Square is one of Philadelphia’s five original squares. The centerpiece is a fountain built in 1838 and fully restored in 2006. There's a carousel, mini golf and playground to entertain the young and the young at heart.

Tonight, 11.9.2017, we ordered two hot dogs with cheese and chili. After waiting 10 minutes for our order (hot dogs!), we were handed two hot dogs with a slight coloring of Cheese Whiz and about a teaspoon of chili on each. Okay, NOT what we...More

Tickets for adults were $17, a bit pricey for a ticket that only came with a walk through the square and views of the Chinese lanterns during the May-June showing of the Chinese lantern festival. With children, it probably would have been more fun but...More

A fun inexpensive Mini Golf course. Well maintained and not too crowded in the early evening when we visited. One challenging hole!! Kudos to the very friendly young man in the kiosk who gave us some excellent Philly tourist tips.

Actuslly, it is 7 acres of fun. Mini golf, carousel, play area for kids, and the fountain in the middle of it all. A nice place to walk and relax. And if you are hungry, there is a burger hut to fill you up.

The park contains a mini golf, picnic areas, space to ramble and amble, yet right near some excellent restaurants and the Revolutionary War hub of the city. We were most recently there during the Chinese lantern festival - one of several international exhibitions presented for...More

Was looking forward to visiting this festival and eating & drinking authentic food. What a disappointment. Only a couple of food venues with long lines and the food was barely eatable. One can go through the Lantern display in about an hour. To park, my...More

Philadelphia is a diverse city. Once a year - for us in June - a Chinese Festival is held in the evening in the park, and it should not be missed. People enter through arches to view giant lighted figures of dragons, pandas and other...More

Get off at Jefferson Station by train. You can walk or catch a cab/uber to Franklin Square. Enjoy! Best place to take kids in the city. Plus, the food is incredible.

I did not see any shuttles coming and going. But there are plenty of Uber drivers in Philly; one is always close by.
