Sadly this wonderful venue allows boisterous drunks into the same space where serious art it being created. So if you go for the music, sit as close to the stage as possible. PS. I don't think this is management's fault. Rather it's that the club would not survive if it had to count only on true jazz fans.

One of the greatest jazz restaurant's I've ever been to. I had a Cajun rice with seafood which was terrific. And the music, the music was great, the pianist leading the band was both talented and nice. A must go.

Chris's Jazz Cafe is one of the hottest places around to go and listen to live jazz music in the city of Philadelphia and it's surrounding area. Offering menu options, and options just to come and see the artists perform are both readily available. You choose whether or not you want to dine there or just come for the show.... More

Celebrated my birthday by seeing Ravi Coltrane at Chris' with my wife and two teenage kids - our first time there. We all had a fantastic time. This club has wonderful warm acoustics and the sound was excellent. Mr. Coltrane's performance was top notch. Pricing was what I would expect to pay to see top talent in a classy, upscale... More

We went in and were told we could pay $20 and sit at a table in front of the live band or sit in the back, bar area and watch it on the monitors for no charge. Five of us heard him say this. We picked the latter option because we were going to order some food and wanted to... More

The food is always delicious there Here is a pic of my deelicious dessert A little pricey at $12 but very yummy At the last minute the audience was informed Mr Bartz was not going to perform which was a major disappointment . But I have gone there before and this never happened I love the friendly staff and chef... More

Beware: they charge extra for drinking your scotch the right way - neat. I guess they have to up the already expensive price when they can't water it down with ice. And the pour was not very good either. Cheap.

Be warned that seating providing a view of the musicians is not a certainty! Attended the recent Christian McBride Trio show and my partner could only see 1 musician and I could see 1 other musician. There is no warning when purchasing tickets online that such poor seating is possible, only that people with Gen'l Admission tix will be seated... More

We went in to a half empty bar. He sat us in a corner . We said we can't see the band! His response as he walked away on the phone was you'd be surprised what you can see from here. You'd be surprised how quickly we can leave! We are currently at Time.

I bought tickets online--the last two seats in the house according to Chris. We were seated in the corner with a poor view of the stage (the layout of the place appears to create a lot of blind spots) and near a noisy group of diners. (It sounds like we might have fared better showing up without a reservation!) The... More
