Old synagogue - orthodox, but wit lots of twists; knocked on door to get in - very friendly people - also tied in with American Jewish Museum - only took maybe 15 minutes - well worth it.

My husband and I wandered in here as it looked interesting and it was a highlight of our day. The little lady who serves as a hostess was just fabulous - she is elderly but very spry and so full of amazing history. We truly enjoyed hearing about Jewish history that traced back to Spanish roots. It was a highlight... More

Though I'm not Sepharadic, I felt most welcome by the congregants and was even welcomed personally by the Rabbi, though I was in the adjacent women's section. Do stay for the delicious meal and take a look around as there are many relics worth reading about too.

This is the synagogue of the oldest congregation in America dating back to the mid 1600's. It's small but full of wonderful, welcoming people. It's literally on Independence Mall. How many places can say that?

My wife and I took a tour of this beautiful synagogue and met with the Rabbi who welcomed us as if we were friends,.
