Start your visit at the Visitor's Center to get a timed pass to visit Independence Hall. I also took the free Twilight Tour that was listed in the flyer given out with the pass. It is easy to spend the entire day seeing the sights.

Ok all I caught myself doing was imagining what it was like back in the day in philly with the redcoats and Washington all while my kids were asking me for water while we were walking though the mall. Very cool for people who love...More

You need to get tickets for the East wing of Indepedance Hall. Get them on line if possible. We missed touring the East wing but did enjoy the vist on the West Wing.

First, know that this is a mall in the same fashion as the mall in DC: public space and grass to showcase important historical buildings and objects withing the space of a few blocks. Here is where you will find the foundation of Washington's capitol...More

Very important historical buildings all around this mall, so you must come here and experience the cradle of independence. Nice green space in the middle of Center City.

I would say 1.5-2 hours should be good. If you rush and try really hard you can finish it in 45 mins - 1 hour. If I were you I would skip Mutter Museum if I run short on time.
