This little gem is hidden away, but worth the effort to go. Moving portraits of persons and events who helped shape our nation and world and fought for freedom. The gentleman who greeted us was very friendly and gave us good information and recommendations on viewing the exhibits. My daughter was thrilled when he rang a replica of the Liberty... More

During our visit several exhibits were closed for renovations. The open exhibits were thought provoking and well done. The Dale Chihuly glass sculpture is not to be missed.

As a history educator, this was the most moving experience at a museum I have personally ever had. The museum may be small in comparison to others but its message and spirit loom large! Their way of interpreting the concept of liberty through glass and art is a unique take on the museum experience. The museum does an incredible job... More

We found out about this museum from a website about places to visit in Philadelphia on 1/16/17. We were pleasantly surprised with the glass designs and with the audio presentation of how some of them were created. It wasn't crowded which allowed us to take our time & enjoy the museum.

We found this gem 45 minutes before closing, and will definitely be going back! First off, the Staff in the lobby were helpful with storing our winter coats and how we could best wrap together our speed visit; another administrator working in an office on another floor was kind enough to take the time to explain the origins of this... We were expecting to see displays about Ghandi, Martin Luther King and others who fought for freedom of people and of speech. The displays on 'Heroes' highlighting those who gave their lives trying to help after the 9/11 attacks or those who helped Jews escape during World War 2 tied into this theme quite well although we struggled more with... Hi flowerlady64, Thank you for taking the time to review the National Liberty Museum. To answer your question, we chose glass as our primary art form because freedom like glass is fragile. Next time you are in Philadelphia please come back to explore more! More

This place was a highlight of my stay in Philadelphia! For $7pp, it cannot be missed. Numerous forms of media from film, sculpture, interactive displays, and tributes created ways of thinking about liberty that may not have occurred to many people. The museum started with a film about liberty, the concepts of liberty as seen through worldwide religion, settlements in... More

A super hidden gem! We take our kindergarten class here every year on a guided tour and they learn so much. The museum is great- one day i'll make it back to learn more without my class in tow.

The artistic creations were amazing ly beautiful and breathtaking. The memorial tributes to the victims of 911, Police, Fire, Military, Rescure Personnel and Civilian Respondents was very humbling.
