The President's House was basically a frame of the house. It had video narratives and posted information of the owned slaves aspect of slavery and in depth information on the timeline of America and the slaves arrival and liberation. There was also a display of...More

This place is worth a quick stop on your way to the Liberty Bell. There is not much left of this place, but they did find the original foundation. They have laid out where the original house sat. While there, think about how far the...More

Very cool how they have the foundation preserved. Great to see the walls built to show you what it roughly looked like. A quick visit before going to the Liberty bell.

I was especially interested in seeing this "new" site on this trip to Philadelphia as I followed the archeological excavation when it was being done on webcam. I also seem to remember some controversy when the excavation was finished as to whether to restore it...More

It is worth it to stop here just to listen to the various slaves' stories. You can also see really cool archaeological remains of the house's foundation. It doesn't seem like much when you look at it from across the street (many people don't even...More

This is an interesting area of how the Presidents house would of looked if it was still standing. There are various things to read around it and a place where you can see the old foundation.

Directly across from the parking under the Independence Visiter Center is the house where George Washington lived after leaving office. It's free and open air with movies of actors portraying historical figures. Definitely check it out .

The President's House is an outdoor exhibit open 24/7 documenting slavery in the United States, and the many controversies surrounding it. It's a small installation, and appears to be what you do while you're waiting for your turn in the Liberty Bell Center.
