I've walked by this many times in the past and not gone in but it's really worth it. Five of the original signers are here, one of the Betsy Ross's uncle, who designed the flag, and also Charles Mason, of the Mason Dixon line. Ask about spectial tours - I got there just as it was closing for the day,... More

I like old cemeteries, I think they are beautiful. I have visited several, but other then this one, I have never had to pay to enter. Ben Franklin's grave is also currently under renovation, so it is not really accessible.

Dear Garfieldluvr, Thank you for taking the time to visit Christ Church Burial Ground. As to your concern about an admission fee, the Burial Ground is a private nonprofit historic site. Your admission fee goes towards 1) upkeep of the grounds 2) preservation and restoration of the headstones (which you observed with the current preservation work being done on Benjamin... More

There is a small fee to enter the cemetery grounds that includes Benjamin Franklin grave. Really fascinating assortment of gravestone markers, most of which are so old is is hard to discern the writings. There is a marker list for sale at the entrance that makes the walk even more interesting. Photo taking is allowed, but must respectfully stay on... More

I have been to the church but the only part of the cemetery I saw was Ben Franklin's grave and threw a penny or two on it. I think I read they are going to make some changes because people are trying to take the pennies.

Peaking in the 1700s, the Christ Church Cemetery is an essential part of a tourist experience in Philadelphia. William Penn & Benjamin Franklin are here as are many other icons of the early Pennsylvania. But it's the churchyard with the now becoming ancient grave markers....all reminiscent of an English churchyard, which is exactly what it is. Don't miss this and... More

Christ Church Burial Ground is a short walk from the Independence Hall/Liberty Bell area in downtown Philadelphia. Many significant individuals associated with America's founding are interred here; most famously, of course, being Benjamin Franklin. Admission is very cheap for a self-guided tour, or a guided tour is available for a small fee. If you're in town to see sites of... More

Then this is a must see. So many graves from the 1700's are still here. Ben Franklin's grave is here along with other significant revolutionaries.

Located a few minutes walk from the Liberty Bell, this quaint graveyard is worth a quick visit (15 minutes is more than enough), just to see the grave of Philly's most famous citizen, Benjamin Franklin and his wife. A handful of other revolutionary-era heroes are also buried here.

The big draw here is Benjamin Franklin's grave. If that's all you want to see, you can view it from outside the cemetery fence. But if you want a better vantage point for Franklin's final resting place, or if you want to dive a bit deeper into Philadelphia's history, then pay the modest $2 entry fee and go into the... More
