Beautiful features of this old zoo are maintained, with updated animal environments. Good access to food, comfortable rest areas. Bring a stroller for children -- this is a large campus. A great place to spend a day with the kids.

I thought this was a decent zoo, but VERY smelly compared to some of the zoos in the southern US. It could use some TLC.

The are a lot of good points to this zoo. We liked the rare and endangered species section. The animal crossings are a nice touch. Wish we could have seen some animals in them crossing from one to another. Good variety of animals.

The new parking garage is so nice - right off the highway and only a five minute walk to the entrance! Then on the way home only a short one minute drive to the highway. Free parking with a membership. Really nice because you scan your card to enter the garage and scan the card after you leave the garage... More

Avoid. The exhibit windows are not clean. This zoo looks like it needs more funding badly. The art museum would be a better choice.

Possibly the most entertainingly designed zoo I've visited, short of the San Diego Zoo. In a compact space that won't exhaust the busy parent, meandering is easy. The animal enclosures provide reassurances to those of us who care that the animals live in habitats that provide comfort and familiar environments.

This place is very large, dirty, expensive but a lot of fun. It's expensive for just a one day visit but if it's possible one might comeback to or three times it's worth it to buy a season pass. Many food places and other places that might require a ticket such as the train ride is the horse ride will be... More

We visit the Philadelphia Zoo frequently and we belong to the zoo as members. The membership fee when joining the zoo goes to help to the care of the animals which is a worthy cause. There are many different levels of membership that you can get. We just happen to have a family membership for 2 adults and 2 children.... More

This is the oldest zoo in the United States, but you would not know it from the exhibits. The big cat exhibit is one of the best I've seen: Kids get a big kick out of the tigers and lions walking right up to the glass. There also also a lot of other activities for the kids, like pony rides,... More
