Americas First Zoo

This rolling tranquil zoological garden is among the nations finest zoo parks. The Zoo balloon is a cool ride and animals enclosures are second to none.

You're the first zoo established in America. How do you keep things modern, yet pay homage to your past? This zoo seems to do both. There are still architecture gems all over their grounds if you pay attention. Some buildings have the old exterior, but modern interior (AKA old pachyderm house is now an education center for families). Other zoos... More

You can have a really good time with your family here. The exhibits are interesting making it fun to see so many different types of exotic animals. Education has an emphasis on conservation so leaving the zoo you get a sense that you want to support animal conservation around the world.

I have a family membership at the Philadelphia Zoo and it's always worth the trip. The monkeys are the firt thing you see as you enter the zoo. These animals can be entertaining as well. Definitely informational. Peacocks walk around freely too. The food options are good too, moreso in the Spring an dSummer. They shut down a few places... More

This zoo should be rated better than it is. We found it to be second only to the San Diego zoo, and we are definitely "animal" people. It was the closest we've ever gotten to "big cats", separated only by double glass. The hippo was also very close, as were the bears. Fun to see the lions walk across overhead,... More

The nation's first zoo. Now with parking garage that ends an inconvenience. The lion walk is great - better than seeing them in a cage. It's pleasantly eerie. And, in general, the environment is pleasant and great for children.

I went with my fiancee and some friends with kids, and it was a fun time! We happened to catch a few of the shows, which were very informative, and also did some paddling around the lake!

Easy access to park while visiting the zoo. If you like Pokemon Go! there's plenty of pokestops all around the zoo

It was Lovely. Im from the UK so I've seen a lot of the animals in the attractions but my friend who is from France was so excited to see everything. She hadn't seen the giraffes or the flamingos, penguins and bears and much more before. Its very good for the family as there is a chiders area where they... More

Although not in the greatest area and parking is not easy, it is still worth it! The zoo can be fully covered in 2 hours. The rear is inclined so plan your direction carefully if you have your grandparents.
