Devil's Tower was an absolute remarkable rock formation. It appeared majestic as it towered over the earth's surface as if out of nowhere since the surrounding landscape was relatively flat. The tower soared high into the sky and could be seen from miles away as we approached. The highest point of Devil's Tower is 5,112 feet above sea level. Our... More

Devils Tower is a place I wanted to visit for years, and I was not disappointed when I finally went there. The Tower is a spectacular geological feature, and sits in a great area. There are several trails circumventing the Tower. One around the base of about 1.25 miles, all paved, and several others which are longer and provide a... More

We arrived at night at the KOA RV Park, we knew the tower was there but could not see it. We had a nice surprise at dawn. The best part is the sun raising illuminates only the tower, its a stunning site.

We decided to go here on a whim. This turned out to be everyone favorite place on our road trip. They have park ranger's talking almost every hour on the hour about different facets of Devil's Tower. It is steeped in history and is still a sacred site. It's a little bit of a hike to walk around, but well... More

There Visitor Center is ok for what it is. Devil's Tower isn't Yellowstone or Yosemite. If it's empty, you'd spend less than 15 minutes in the building. Grab the park pamphlet and go on the trial. It's an easy walk/hike.

You paid your $10, so you should get something more than a small building that gets overcrowded quickly. No film. Half the building is the gift shop. The information displays are informative, but you come away thinking "is this it?" The bathrooms are in another building. Parking is terrible. A small lot with crazy people behind the wheel. The big... More

We drove an hour out of the way to see this movie-magic monolith and were not disappointed in the least. Because we were on a tight schedule, we did not actually pay and enter the park. Had it not been misty and wet everywhere, I'm sure I would've given in entirely to the temptation to get a lot closer. As... More

Well worth sticking your head in to the visitor centre to check out the history and formation of this phenomena. Then go see the prairie dogs en route to Devil's Tower. Wonderful place to visit.

Good description of the local culture and the geography of the area along with the routine gift shop.

Well maintained and groomed trails. The "Tower Trail" is paved. An easy walk. The "Red Beds Trail" is a little more rugged and challenging. In under two and one half hours I walked both trails at a leisurely pace, stopping often to take photographs. Next Stop: Jewel Cave.
