I first visited Devils Tower over 40 years ago. When I recently returned, the National Monument, under the care of the National Park Service, is just as imposingly impressive. Moreover, the prairie dog colonies near the Monument's entry are so much fun to watch as...More

We passed by this beautiful monument on the way to Rapid City. It's a great place for a short walk to stretch your legs from a long drive, have a picnic and just see the famous Devils Tower. Great Place!

Amazing site to see with a lot of great hiking. You could spend any where from 30 minutes to a full day exploring the area. If your headed into Huelt, wy. On highway24 stop in red rock cafe for a great meal.

I have camped here twice. Both times I get quickly irritated by the people around the visitor's center and the main path. BUT, the real beauty is the longer hike. The visitor's center is nice, and I'm sure it would be a nice look around...More

This tower is fascinating, menacing and beautiful at the same time. At a minimum, do the tower hike. It is paved and well laid out. Just take water as it can be hot. Also look for rock climbers, mule deeds and prairie dogs.

Went to this massive monument/icon with family . Great place, nice paved hiking trail that goes all the way around the base. Plenty of other tourists from all around the world. A little out of the way , but worth the drive.

Having watched "Close encounters" years ago we decided to visit when we were in the area. The two lane road leading to the tower winds through the hills for miles. The tower is visible on the horizon about 5 miles out. A tourist venue is...More

Devils Tower is a spectacular structure that appears unexpectedly on the landscape, nothing else like it around! Once there, we stood in awe with this impressive creation by nature. Visitors are able climb the boulders that surround the tower (the massive rocks having fallen away...More

If you're planning a trip anywhere near the area you must see Devil's Tower, absolutely spectacular. Take water, and wear hiking shoes, go early and hike around this National monument.

It's just off the side of the road as you enter the park, with several pullouts so you can take photos. There are literally thousands of holes in the ground so the boys will see plenty of prairie dogs. But don't try to get... More
