The "village" is semi-random houses in a regular neighborhood in Bradenton. Artists have fixed up the houses to make their galleries. The few artisans we met were very nice and told us about their art. Pieces ranged from $25 paintings and pottery to pieces worth thousands. The problem we ran into was most of the galleries were not open on... More

I reviewed the Village a couple years ago and was hopeful it would grow and thrive into an interesting redeveloped urban area. I've had to drop it to a poor. Most of the shops have sort of "Hobby Lobby" amateur art, painted garage sale furniture, wind chimes, pottery, etc..that you see at art fairs. It still has the low end... More

Funky. Idiosyncratic. Artistic. Tasty Delightful. Weird. All these words come to mind when I think of Village of the Arts, a real Bradenton treasure. Small art shops, often run by the artist. Unusual places to eat. Houses in all colors. Nothing subtle. Everything great fun. It's real not Disneyland. By all means, visit - wear a tie-dye shirt, check out... More

WOW! Thank you so much for this 4-star review! We love the words you chose to describe the Village of the Arts, especially these: "a real Bradenton trasure". Thanks for letting others know about the weird and the wonderful here in the Village! Now, where did I leave my tie-dye shirt???? Ruth Warren. PR and Marketing Team Member More

The Village is a few streets with old Florida houses and interesting art studios. On the first Friday there is an art tour and a party environment in the village. A fun place. Check out the new mural of the village founder, Herbie Rose on 8th Ave and 12th Street.

Thank you for your 4 star review of the Village of the Arts! We agree, First Fridays artwalks are indeed fun with a party vibe. And we LOVE the new mural of Village founder Herbie Rose - thanks for mentioning that! It's another great addition to the growing examples of outdoor community art that are on display every day in... Great little hidden gem of brightly colored houses with eclectic art of all kinds. Supposedly 4 blocks of houses - we did not get a chance to see them all. Not open on Sundays. It's too bad they are not open during tourist season for the 7 days as we did not find out about this place until it was... More

Thank you so much for visiting the Village and sharing that experience with a 5 star review! We truly appreciate your perspective of the Village. The Village of the Arts is actually larger than 4 blocks! Boundaries span from 9th St W to 14th St W on the east/west edges, and from 9th Ave W to 17th Ave W on... More

I expected a much bigger place, there were only a few shops and most of them were closed. I won't be back.

Interesting neighborhood of whimsical houses and art shops. Has great potential. HOWEVER the artists individually decide their hours and days of operation. Maps with days/hours are in constant flux. Too bad, if the artists had "business" sense this would be a great place to stroll, shop and eat.

A somewhat seedy area with only a few shops of interest. It was not a good beach day so we drove here and we were disappointed. Many nicer areas in Sarasota and Bradenton.
