Nice Park

Nice place to visit for a small dose of Florida and the Bradenton area history. Good walking paths and interesting outdoor exhibits. Also available is a short informative program.

De Soto National Park is a nice, small, manageable area on the Manatee River in Northwest Bradenton. Plenty of parking and a great place to take your dog for a walk through the few trails. Take mosquito repellent! The beach at the south end of the park is an area where dogs run off leash, even though there is a... More

History type stop of course...short trail and not really that much to see...couple of exhibits and the trail is just about it. Parking was fine and 3 minutes driving from Robinson Nature Preserve.

This is a very nice national park, I just wish there was more of it. Doesn't take long to go through what they have there but it's right on the water and is beautiful. Go see the movie they have inside. They do allow dogs (well probably not inside).

It's a nice short place to visit on your drive to Naples or Tampa I would highly recommend this place as park rangers are very friendly and one of the best national parks in US

I don't know if this is REALLY the exact spot where DeSoto landed, but it is a beautiful little historic site nonetheless. It is a small national memorial with a tiny visitor center, but the displays are interesting; the short nature trail is lovely, and the monuments, especially the giant cross, are memorable. It is basically at the end of... More

Hidden gem surrounded by the warm azure bay. Mangrove shaded trails, sandy spots to sit by the water, benches and picnic tables, nooks for small craft boats to rest. Absolutely sublime afternoon.

Great example of our National Park service at work. Relaxing, peaceful location. Small beach to enjoy, benches to take in the view, easy walking paths to explore the coastal shoreline. A really nice way to spend the afternoon.

Interesting. Very small park but beautiful setting on the water & beautiful trees. Nice walking trails of 1/2 mile or 1 mile.

We had a very enjoyable a roll around the trail. Our grandson was able to look for different locations with a map and compass provided at no charge from the visitor's center and become a junior ranger. Not a big area but we'll put together. There is a 22 minute video that tells about Desoto's exploits in the new world.
