The scenery is beautiful and visiting the graves of the movers and shakers of Dayton past is inspiring.

This is truly one of the cities gems. Gorgeous grounds, tons of historic grave markers, great views of the city, and the resting place of Orville and Wilbur Wright; Paul Lawrence Dunbar and many other Dayton history makers.

I expect there are many that would not recreate in a cemetery, but having grown up living next door to a vast cemetary, I find Solitude in a place such as this. My wife and I have taken to long walks in the "grave yard" and have chosen this place for the hills, the sheer size, and the beauty. The... More

Such a historical place in Dayton, Ohio. One day my father and brother and I decided to find the Civil war soldiers. I was very surprised how many were buried there.. It is so peaceful there. The Wright Brothers are buried there along Erma Bomback, Charles Kettering, John Patterson and Col. Deeds. You have to see a memorial titled The... More

Visited to see parents graves. Lots of hills here which I like, but be aware if you are challenged. Upkeep looks real good, it's a challenge to keep up with the digging creatures and fallen branches. The views here of UD and Dayton are pretty, esp. later in the year and in winter. Pretty place, you guys do a good... More

There are loads of 'famous' personalities buried here. Most of them if you are not a local you may not know, but I would imagine that most people venture here to see the Wright Brothers. It is a nice cemetery with many interesting features such as an overlook on Dayton. The mausoleum is quite nice as well. Worth a stop.... More

The Woodland Cemetery is a must see if you're in Dayton. I highly recommend taking a tour to learn more about Dayton's history and the grounds are gorgeous. It's also the highest point with a great view of the city. Perfect for photos too.
