This was the one part of these museums that actually seemed interesting since the Aviation part of this area is misleading. Unfortunately it was closed, and the ranger playing on his phone in the other museum did not explain why.

Visit the Visitor Center first, see the film, then continue on. Reserve tickets for the Hawthorn Hill house a week before. The second floor contains a print shop like Wilbert and Orville Wrights and a section on Brown's poetry and his life.

Do not let the neighborhood scare you. Its a great visit and informative. Small museum but they tried to preserve what they can. Good visit for history and aviation buffs.

Very interesting restored cycle company building and small museum with commemorating the lives of the Wright brothers and Paul Dunbar. Well worth spending a few hours checking it out!

Bob the ranger gave me a tour of the bicycle shop early on a Sunday morning. It was furnished with era lathe and drill press. How cool is that! There are several interesting movies to see on the first flight and the troubles the Wright...More

The Wright Cycle Company Complex is part of the Dayton Aviation History National Historic Park. It really shouldn't have a separate entry on TripAdvisor, so I refer you there for additional reviews. What is included is childhood and adult home and workplace of the Wright...More

As we had done the USAF Natl museum the day before, felt it was fitting to give the Wright bros equal billing. The shop is small but well preserved by the park service and the rangers story telling brings the static displays to life...make sure...More

We had visited Kitty Hawk/Kill Devil Hills last year and wanted to see the rest of the story. This site is a NPS treasure and aptly describes the Wright Bros journey from playing with a small helicopter toy to building and flying a large, engine-driven...More

This site, like many NPS historic sites, is actually a reproduction of the building that the Wright Brothers once worked in. Most people don't realize that business was much more fluid a hundred years ago, as many shops didn't all just line up in strip...More

It is operated by the National Park Service. Normal hours are 9-5 M-F. Good Friday is not a national holiday so it is scheduled to be open.

The video is about 15 minutes, and it is EXCELLENT. You can do the remainder in less than an hour, or take a couple of hours if you are interested in the details. The Cyclery Shop is about 10-15 minutes, it is next door.
