Very good museum to explain the Revolutionary War and varying experiences during the period. There is a 12 minute movie that you MUST see and experience. There is vibration, smoke, smells and nearly 180 degree screen to enjoy. Many nice exhibits spaces are interactive as...More

Thoroughly enjoyable visit! We took the self-guided tour of museum, revolutionary encampment and farm. The re-enactors did a very good job of demonstrating day-to-day life in revolutionary times, especially the demos of food preparation and preservation. Well worth the price of admission, and we would...More

While the museum itself is newly renovated and has some really great exhibits, the Liberty video had us scratching our heads as we left. We actually watched the video as we exited instead of at the beginning. The video reviews key battles and people from...More

Best when there is a holiday involved(parades) and on a Saturday. Otherwise it is self tours and quite boring. More simulations like the do in Jamestown would be nicer and make it educational.

Visited with the extended family and there was something for everyone. I really enjoyed the true stories of ordinary citizens who witnessed the events that took place. Several interactive exhibits that allowed the kids to be “hands on”. Cafe in the main building was lacking....More

We went to this museum on Thanksgiving day. The exhibits were interesting and some were interactive. The outside exhibits were much more interesting for young children as there were chickens and ducks and other activities where kids can run around.

We were staying at Williamsburg, but aren't total history buffs (weird I know). We decided to pick one history focused activity, and I am so glad this is what we chose! We spent about 2 1/2 hours here. The museum includes many different types of...More

A fair amount of walks no. Beautiful historical displays. A theater with about 25 min film. Worthwhile. You can walk outside and see campground display and cabins. Lots of bathrooms.
