Beautiful beach and nice walk on pier

The beach had a terrific nativity scene made from rocks. We even met the artist. The pier had lots of historical info and plaques. It was a gorgeous view. There's a playground... read more

Come and fish (no license required), watch the local surfers or enjoy a nice walk on the beach. Great stop for lunch, you can sit down and eat a couple of places or just have a quick taco. Easy on and off the freeway access.

I used to live in Ventura....so it was a great trip to bring my granddaughters back to see it. of course it smells of the ocean, fish and some homeless people....but what do you expect. The water is beautiful....and there is good fish tacos on the pier....the beach below is soft and clean....a great day trip.

I love to walk this pier and watch the surfers ride the waves in to a lovely beach. It is also fun to watch people fishing and check out their catch. The view is to the West and beautiful. The sound of the waves washing in is one of my favorite sounds. It's a great place for an ocean view... More

The historic Ventura wooden pier is always a fun place to walk out and explore with two restaurants on the pier as well as a promenade to the West with a large hotel (Crowne Plaza) and several more restaurants. A short walk up California street takes you to the Ventura downtown area with lots of shopping, restaurants, coffee and wine... More

The beach had a terrific nativity scene made from rocks. We even met the artist. The pier had lots of historical info and plaques. It was a gorgeous view. There's a playground for kids. And the fish taco place was delicious!

Although this pier does not have the attractions that Santa Monica has, it was a great stop to relax and enjoy an adult beverage from the great restaurant on the pier. The sunset was very nice.

We enjoyed early morning hours walking on the pier watching people fishing, the dance of the seagulls and the brave surfers. At the end of the Pier is a description of the Santa Barbara Islands and they can be seen from the end of the Pier. There are a couple fast food restaurants on the pier, but they were not... More

The exposed-to-the-elements Pier constantly needs maintenance, but it was great over Thanksgiving 2016 weekend. Free to casually stroll upon, but watch out for slippery conditions. Signs explain history and you get an up-close experience of the rushing, powerful water. It's a beautiful sunrise and sunset spot. Closed during the night.

Did some fishing......no luck. However it's a great walk to get s view of the whole Ventura point. Good little food stand at the base of the pier.
