Trail begins in Ventura on the Pacific Ocean, then parallels the Ventura River and an old abandoned railroad line. The trail is also adjacent to an equestrian trail meandering through beautiful old trees, little rural settlements and eventually terminating in the lovely resort town of Ojai. There you can easily find a delightful restaurant to refresh oneself before a return... More

This has to be one of the best community services of all time: a great, long bike path from Ventura to Ojai. You don't have to do it all; there are several places you could start and stop. But go early in the day to avoid the heat, because it can get super hot in Ojai. I would not particularly... More

This is a great bike ride. It's separate from Hwy.33 thus it's very safe. It is also shaded for the most part and hence comfortable. There's a slight incline going, but so gradual you're hardly aware of it on the ride up. What is delightful is that on the way down you barely need to pedal which makes a very... More

This paved bike path is great, and full of beautiful ocean views, and also of the mountains. Such beautiful views. We went with our 10 and 13 year-old boys and it was totally manageable. There is no rush, you can go at your own speed.

This is built on old train tracks so the over 1000 foot climb is barely noticeable but it is there. This is a great beginner ride for those wanting to work up to some real distances. If you get to where this is like nothing to you, you'll be ready for the SB county line ride.

Fun bike run. Ventura to Ojai is uphill, but gradual enough for the casual bike ride. About 1/2 way to Ojai is a nice park to stop and have a bite to eat that you will bring in your bike bags.

Trail head at Ojai, Foster Park or Ventura. The first ride we did was from Ventura to Foster Park and back. The second ride was from Foster Park to Ojai and back. Cost $ to park at park but car is safer there than under the freeway bridge. Next up is the entire route from Ventura to Ojai and back.... More

My wife and I load our bikes on the bus and ride down the trail. We like to eat brunch at the Ojai Valley Inn. Bring plenty of water and plan to end your ride in Pierpont.

We don't have racing bikes, just standard street bikes, so it took us 2 hours to cycle from Ventura to Ojai, but the path is terrific. The views are beautiful once you get out of the industrial area of Ventura. The grade is gradual but you are going uphill the whole way. Once in Ojai you have your choice of... More
