We Always end up dancing to live jazz on Monday nights as Sonia s we are in New York! Svetlana's with her jazzy voice and the absinthe drinks in coffee cups are a perfect choice for the end of a gorgeous Monday night!

We needed a bar that took reservations for nine after a Broadway show, and the Back Room was fantastic. Although they were very busy, they held our reservations and the service was excellent. It had a unique ambiance - drinking out of tea cups! You...More

This place is amazing. They serve you cocktail in teacups and give you the bears in brown papel bags. The decor is beautiful. The entrance is kind of ugly but when you pass by the door everything is different. Great atmosphere.

A kind of difficult to find, but you should go!! It's a great speakeasy. Cocktail served in tea cups. Good people and environment, just a little expensive.

We found this place quite easily using google maps. We walked from China town and didn't have any issues in locating it. There is also a metro pretty much outside it. We went on a Monday night at about 8pm and walked straight in. There...More

This place really does transport you back in time. It is very dark inside and drinks are served in tea cups which really adds to the prohibition feel. Definitely worth a visit!

Great atmosphere, drinks are served in tea cups (prohibition). There are definitely bars with better cocktails but due to the interior and style of this back room bar it is a "must to do" when visiting the east village.

The Back Room is a unique cocktail experience in New York City. To get to this speakeasy, you have to walk down a dimly lit alley outside which can be a creepy. I probably won’t have gone if I wasn’t with my husband because it...More

The Back Room provided a neat glimpse into prohibition times. The entrance is unassuming and tucked away down an alley. Upon entering you take a step back in time with velvet wall coverings, Victorian style furnishings and low lighting. Drinks are served in tea cups...More

I thinks this is one of the thick boxes. Place is cool and we where lucky enough to be in a quite Saturday night(?). Not really a cocktail expert but the drinks are ok but as in every place in New York, very expensive and...More

It's a long way. The Hilton is up near Central Park (around 57th Street) so you have 57 blocks just to get downtown to Houston Street and then it's a few blocks further south and east. Having said that, taking a Subway ride... More

I'm not certain if it's open on Sunday, the website might tell you. It gets busy and it didn't look like anyone was taking reservations.
