We really enjoyed top of the rock even maybe more than Empire State Building. Less people and a complete view of Central Park. You can't see Central Park at all from ESB. It's definitely a must and it's in a great location. I would recommend this to anyone.

What an awesome experience! Breathtaking views of New York. It can get pretty busy, as is most places in NYC but with some patience you can get amazing photos. We went during the day but would love to go back and see the view at night.

We did both the Top of the Rock and Empire Building. Top of the Rock is a tiny bit cheaper and we only waited 20 mins in line to get to the top. The good thing about the Top of the Rock building is that you can see the Empire State Building in the view and you can also see... More

Absolutely fantastic. Don't miss this attraction. We had not planned on doing this one and ended up on that part of town. You really have to see it for yourself.

Advice: visit this in the morning and the empire at night (or switch if the hours enable you), to get both views. There's a great sense of Central Park and you get to take pics of the Empire in the back! We had NY Pass, so it was included and didn't take too long to go up. We did have... More

Ok, so The Rock is not as high as the ESB but it has a nicer feel and the observation decks are somehow more accessible. The staff are more friendly and the history of the building is better told. We went at night and the views are terrific. Lovely setting and great Art Deco. You could feel Rockefeller himself breathing... More

Great visit...no queues and friendly staff. Plenty of space to get dome great shots from the top. The very very top is a must for just a few extra steps up.

A must to do while visiting, weather was cold but views of city clear. Worth every penny. Looking over the city from that height was fantastic

The adventure starts at the elevator that is very fast and with a presentation of the history of the building. When you reach the roof top you have the best view of the NY with views of the Empire State, Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, East River, Central Park. The sunset is a amazing.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
