Nice little theater, pleasant show

This theater was a great venue for this drama. The sight lines and acoustics were excellent. I had no trouble hearing the lines of the play at all.

Never got to see the show. We purchased same-day tickets for The Humans playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre on a Thursday and paid full price -- $400 for two tickets (through Telecharge). We were late for the performance and missed most of the first act due to stoppage of traffic. They wouldn’t give us a voucher for another performance... More

Went to see a play, the Humans. I will not review this play here but have to say that we were unpleasantly surprised with the people assisting in finding seats in the theater. Wish they would be more kind to those who pay their salaries.. A tip: theater is very small, so you will be fine to sit at the... More

This is an amazing little show with a cast of only six. The Hayes is a great size of theatre for it, I think the cast and sets would be swallowed up by anything bigger. The first half takes place using largely the backstage set while the second takes place on a naval ship. It’s a show about a Broadway... More

Loved the show, the cast -- the incredible dancing and the Helen Hayes is the perfect theatre. To paraphrase a recent review: aside from all its many other assets, this show has so much heart it will win over your heart -- and it sure has mine!

Helen Hayes Theater is a small theater, which makes it hard to get a bad viewing seat. Wife and I had orchestra seats against the wall, on the right side facing the stage, she in back of me, rows L and M, as we got seats just the week before. The rows in front of us had a slight rise,... More

Dames At Sea is an phenomenal production! This light and upbeat Broadway revival will put a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and joy in your heart. The small extremely talented cast work together like family and engage with audience members after the show. The entire Helen Hayes Theatre house staff match the shows positivite and capture... The play was remeniscent of the old time shows of the 50's starting off with a film-type intro with cast characters. Quoting a gentlemen in the ticket line, "if you want to see some of the best tap dancing on broadway," this is the play to see. Totally enjoyed it.

This is a new show at the Helen Hayes Theater. We saw it on October 28th. It just opened on Broadway on October 22.The theater is small and we had great seats. We could see the actors facial expressions well. If you like old-timey musicals this is for you. The cast is small-only 6 actors (one plays 2 parts) The... More

Dames at Sea is a refreshing new choice on Broadway! Tap dancing is wonderful, songs are upbeat and the cast is superb. This is a great choice for everyone in the family. Theatre is perfect as all seats have a great view due to the smaller size. If you are contemplating seeing a musical....see Dames at Sea. You will come... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
