This morning my wife and I took the F subway train to Roosevelt Island and spent a couple of hours walking along the shoreline taking in the truly astonishing views of Manhattan. We walked all the way to the most southerly point on the island,...More

We took the free cable tram over to Roosevelt Island and did a quick morning walk-about on the day of our departure. There was only one of the two trams working when we visited, due to maintenance or construction. The tram would hold more than...More

Made a couple visits to Roosevelt Island by walking over from Long Island City (Queens). There is a narrow sidewalk crossing the East River, which leads to the Roosevelt Island parking structure. If you want to take some food for a picnic, there are two...More

Well worth a visit if only for the cable car ride over the East River, quite a bit of construction work being done but should be good when complete. The Roosevelt monument is excellent and the views to Manhattan, Brooklyn and queens is excellent

Walk 2 blocks east from Port Authority to the F train at 42nd St Bryant Park. Get off at the Roosevelt Island stop and you're there.
