Such a fountain is a pleasant surprise to find in this very busy part of the city. The trickling waters offer relaxation for the weary traveler.

This park was recently renovated to its old glory. The lighting fixtures are beautiful and the fountain is just amazing. It's a nice place to sit and have lunch in New York City.

Before you tackle theBrooklyn Bridge, which begins right across from this park, have a little break, sit downan relax and enjoy the peacefulness of that park. Some of the free walking tours begin there.

Financial District
At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial
District is where New York City began as a center of
commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful
setting are complemented by museums, countless
skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District,
home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.
Catch the Staten Island Ferry for an unbeatable view
of the skyline and Statue of Liberty, or sail to Ellis

There are lots that are okay in price closer to either of the rivers. It would be a short walk to City Hall Park from there.

Yes, absolutely. The pedestrian walkway is right there. Just a tad SE. It's a must when you visit lower Manhattan. Enjoy and bring your camera.
