Bowery Poetry Club is filled with some of the most enthusiastic people you will ever meet! Their shows keep you laughing while also connecting you too the more somber sides of poets stories. We went searching for this bar because we had read so much about it and it was more than we had expected! Unfortunately we could only enjoy a quick drink but that was already a nice experience! The place was beautiful! Walls were gorgeously decorated! Cocktails were perfect, staff was very friendly, the food menu looked absolutely delicious too! Everything... More

I read here last night as part of their Sunday poetry series, and it was a real treat. The venue is classy, the sound system is among the best I have ever used, and the lighting was perfectly set up. We stumbled in by accident and happened to catch a show and it was one of the most memorable parts of our visit to NYC! Truly wonderful. This is what I imagined 1940's burlesque and dinner theaters to be like. From the decor to the drinks to the show, TOTALLY worth it.

Now this small pub is what New York City is all about. Located in Bowery Street, right next to the hostel that i was staying, this is the quintessential underground New york bar.
