Amazing night

We had one of the best dates in Arthur's Tavern. That night played an amazing bend called AJ Sharp's band and they were mind blowing...I wish I could go back once again.

Just returned from partial evening at Arthurs. This place is so refreshing, you don't have to go on line to get tickets, and the music was genuinely played by working musicians. The drink prices were reasonable, and I would recommend this spot for a relaxing evening after dinner.

Nice people and very good live music. Old bar with a friendly ambient. No credit cards. Highly recommended!

Old tavern, cash only, band passed the jar for tips in between sets. I was looking for a blues/jazz bar that didn't charge a cover. This place is perfect, the music was great, the atmosphere relaxing.

Perfect. Though renown and with a musical pedigree and history, it simply has the great feel of a classic quality small neighborhood bar with friendly personable bar tenders and waitstaff ...and great music! We were there on a Thursday night and really enjoyed the Eri Yamamoto Jazz Trio. No cover - rather a 2 drink minimum per 2 hr set.... More

I liked the "rough" feel of this place- felt like Tavern ... Lived up to the promise; no credit cards, only cash added to the final touch

A random decision took us in here and it was certainly a good one. This is a small, dark, pub-style venue which plays live jazz and blues until late (3am I think). The drinks are about $15 each for the cocktails which were good. Service was fast and the waitress was good at getting people tables. If you like loud... More

This place I am not sure I even want to review because I want to keep it "Secret" LOL It is an 80 year old Hole-In-The-Wall Jazz Club in Greenwich Village.VERY rustic and small. CASH ONLY signs are EVERYWHERE, so don't expect anything more than a hand-written bill and have CASH. Staff is very friendly and tough. They are used... More

Just kinda of stumbled in and it was the best evening of our stay in NYC! Arthur's gives "dive bars" a good name! On a chilly cold November evening, Arthur's was warm and welcoming and I only wish we could have stayed longer. Barbara was the new bartender (only 2 weeks on the job), and seemed a little nervous but... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
