The Comedy Cellar is located in the cellar of a small building in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan. It is also located a short block south of Washington Square on MacDougal Street. This place is on the small side and they are very organized...More

Was in NYC for a buddies weekend away. Booked the 11.15 pm show and we (mainly me!) almost died laughing. 6 comedians we'd never heard of and Jeff Ross at the end. Everyone one of them was brilliant. Would highly recommend a night out here....More

I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed after having been away from NYC for 5 years not being able to get into the original Comedy Cellar and having to see the show at the Village Underground, but once inside it felt the...More

I attended a gig with some friends and had a great night! Laughs all round, tasty drinks and a great atmosphere! A must if you live in New York or visiting!

No other comedy show I've been to measures up to the experience I had at the Comedy Cellar. Was at the Fat Black Pussycat venue for the show--cozy and intimate setting, great line up of 6 comedians, responsive audience. A must-do!

We spent a very enjoyable two hours with the brilliant Judah Friedlander. Dead pan and outrageous — an essential New York City experience. One of the things we like best about this venue is that you can never be sure who will drop in and...More

Not been here for 15+ years but used to go regularly. It is just as good, just as fun and a real NY experience not to be missed so long as you have any sense of humour. It's part of what NY is all about.

Paid 20$ for a 2 hour gig. You don't know who you will be seeing until you're actually in there. First comedian was Des Bishop. Second on was Ray Romao. Brilliant night and something different to do.

What a fun night here. They have about 7 or 8 acts go up for about 15ish minutes. It's good because there's a good variation and it means if you don't like a particular one he won't be up there for quite long. Two drink...More

This is a must-do in any list while visiting NYC. The comedians were amazing with backgrounds of having been on the Stephen Colbert’s late night show and Netflix originals. The host was incredibly talented as well. We couldn’t stop laughing for two straight hours. There...More

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.

I don't really know. As I wrote, we were invited into the " cellar" by the waitperson and didn't have to wait on any line ...but that was a few years ago and dont know if that policy still exists..

Agree Saturday night is probably best, and usually booked well in advance
