My children, ages 9 and 10, along with my mother and myself had the extraordinary pleasure of seeing "Mary Poppins" at the New Amsterdam Theater in NYC. The show, the actors, the costumes, the special effects were all fantastic. The show is about 2 hours;...More

We saw Mary Poppins here. The show was fun and we loved the old theater. It was located just a few stow from our hotel, which made it very convenient for us.

The theater itself was beautiful but the seating sucked. There was NO legroom at all. It would be better if they had a full bar and places to hold drinks.

We went to see Mary Poppins which was fantastic. All lead actors were amazing. The actor who played Bert was as good as Dick Van Dyke in the movie. The sets were fabulous. Many times we were shocked to see something or someone on stage...More

We had a very good view, front 2 rows and center stage. The seats were at the end of the row so that was nice. The problem was that the seats were sooooo small and very crowded! I really dont know how anyone over 5ft...More

We went to see Mary Poppins on 9-16-2012. Our seats were on the left side Orchestra area. All orchestra seats are ideal as the theater is not that big. It's a perfect size and not overwhelming..We bought our tickets thru NYC.go and got a great...More

I've heard people say that Broadway has become too "Disney". Maybe so, personal opinion, BUT the way they saved this magnificent theater is amazing. It is absolutely beautiful!

Is there a general dress code for the evening show? I'm thinking business casual?

Anything is fine. I have seen shorts to jackets. It is all what you like. I tend to dress better because I like an evening at the theater, but there is no actual code.

I see some reviews stating the seats can be uncomfortable for taller people since it is an older theater. My husband is 6'6" I don't want him to be miserable. I am willing to pay more for his comfort. Are there any seats that may offer more leg room? For the show we are looking at Mezzanine row AA is available. Thanks!

The seats were tight and the space was small, my partner is 6 ft and it was a tight squeeze so it maybe worth contacting the theatre to try and get a more spacious seating area :)

Hello, Trying to decide if better to get center tickets row MM and further on Mezzanine level or center row G in the balcony. Please share your experiences. There are 4 of us and tickets are so expensive I'm trying to get something decent for the least amount of money.
