The Late Show

This is where you will see the Late Show, if you planned ahead to get tickets. It's a pretty Broadway theater a bit old fashioned and charming.

While we were in NYC we went to tapings of The Late Show, Live with Kelly and Good Morning America. The Late Show was by far the most poorly run show we went to, there is soooo much waiting. We had priority tickets from 1iota.com and got in line at 2:45 p.m., we stood outside until 3:45 p.m. and then... More

We arrived to pick up tickets around 12.30 and received ticket number 42 and 43 at around 2 pm, which translates into being seated on row three, in the middle of the theatre on the lower level. The crew was very helpful and was very good at organizing the line. Don't make serious plans between picking up the tickets as... More

Although, we had to wait in line for a rather long time before getting into the theater to see the show, once inside, we had a great time. The band and the person who interacts with the audience prior to the beginning of the show are very lively, entertaining, and upbeat. They get the audience in the mood. Steven Colbert... More

So, Stephen Colbert is very funny & his band is very good..however, his interviews with guests were incredibly lackluster! You need the patience of a saint as you literally wait to wait to wait...in line to show starting was 3 hours for me!!!!! I checked my phone and saw a text from my child...as I went to type a 4... First of all let me remind you that this experience is FREE.... that in itself is amazing in NYC! Do your homework before you go! The Late Show runs like a very well oiled wheel! Apply online for tickets and you'll be guided to the next step... literally! The Ed Sullivan Theatre is truly an American legacy! Just to sit... More

The theater itself is small and charming. It has stained glass windows and is quite pretty inside. But Stephen Colbert is what we went for. Do this at least once in your life. The jazz band Stay Human performs lots of music with fantastic solos. You never appreciate how great they are watching on TV. Advice - stay loose and... More

We saw Colbert taped last night. Before we went I was wondering about the whole drill and there was a lot of variation in these posts, so here’s how it went: We arrived at check in at 3pm (get your “priority” tickets online - make your request and about a week or two later you’ll get an email confirmation). There... More

New York can be expensive. For the sake of a little queuing you get a really good show with potentially some A list celebrities. I very much enjoyed the whole thing.

We booked in advance for our FREE tickets. Yes, we had to show up a couple hours early and wait outside first, and then not too long inside. But did you hear the FREE part (that's for people complaining about logistics and waiting...and I'm a New Yorker!) My husband and I had both seen the theater many, many times on... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
