I don't know quite how to rate this. We had been walking all day in 30 dgr. C and just needed to sit and have a cold beer. Apparently, we misunderstood the sign in front saying that we should ask to sit outside. So we ordered a couple of beers at the counter and told the bartender that we would... More

Ate lunch here today and started with the fried oysters with chipotle sauce. Over the past month I have been in New Zealand and have had Bluff oysters which are wonderful. Today I returned to NYC and ordered the oysters today. My goodness they rated with the best in the world. This restaurant has a menu which they execute very... More

As usual on our trips we stopped by here on Sunday night for a few drinks at the bar before eating up the road at Locanda Verde. As mentioned in other reviews, it has good old school barman and good atmosphere without pretence in the bar. Every time we go we are impressed by the look of the food coming... More

We liked everything about Walker's. Great surroundings; very lively and packed full. The bartender out front was old school professional, our waitress was personable and attentive. Loved the food! We had the burger and chopped sirloin.

After shopping all day long my husband and I just wanted an easy but awesome burger for dinner. After a little googling we found that Walker's was near our hotel and we stopped in to check it out. This is a no-frills place with no apologizes needed. The burger was wonderful. It had the perfect searing and was so tasty.... More

Walker's has been in NYC forever. I suppose it is viewed more as a drinking establishment but I have always found the food to be very good here. I went for the first time in a long time - maybe 5 years - yesterday to meet a friend for brunch. She lives in Tribeca so it was an easy place... More

While trying to get into Bubby's we wandered around and fell upon Walkers. Thank goodness! Great atmosphere and delicious food. I had the scramble egg special and the amount of food that came with it was almost overwhelming but soooo good. Along with the eggs you got a salad and new potatoes. It was all very tasty. I will visit... More

My wife and I ate lunch at this restaurant on May 13, 2010. Lunch was just Ok, but my wife dropped her wallet on the floor. We went back 30 minutes later to recover it and no one knew anything about it. The bus guy denied ever seeing it. When we got back from our trip, my wifes credit cards... More

GREAT REAL NY INSTITUTION - wonderful homemade food, great for kids too, free jazz on Sunday nights, excellent burgers (I say, best in NYC) but it's the friendly vibe and excellent service that keeps this place feeling like a neighborhood feel-good place to enjoy a meal. It's my favorite place to eat in NY! Augie (Mgr) is superb!

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
