I have been here over 10 times. Together with its nearby affiliate, The Comedy Cellar, it is one of the 3 top comedy clubs in NYC and one of the top 10 in the US. It draws major headliners and often has unannounced visits by Jon Stewart, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Louis CK, etc. Expect to pay $15-$24 admission plus... More

Great Comedy Club with a good compere. Entertained by 5 or 6 comedians and a decent waitress service.

Fantastic spot to enjoy a good laugh with some funny comedians and a great house band. This is a great intimate setting to see some comics. Worth visiting.

We originally were going to go to the 8:45 show at Comedy Cellar, but it was already booked by the time I made reservations two weeks out. So we ended up at The Village Underground location for the 9:30 show. My husband and I weren't sure if the VU location would be as good as the original, but it was.... More

We were on vacation in NYC from out of town and went on the recommendation of a friend. It was amazing!! All 7 comedians were great, each one different. Judd Apatow was a guest. My jaw literally hurt after an hour. And its an amazing value - we made a reservation on their site for free (and without even leaving... More

As a lifelong fan of stand up, I was excited to see the clubs in NYC. Chose this club because of their line up. They really know who to book! Saw Colin Quinn at a Wednesday, 7:00 show seemingly just riffing out ideas for new material. For someone seeking a polished show, this would not have been the right choice... More

First time ever in a Comedy Club but will now be a regular. All the comedians were either almost stars, or very well known (Letterman, Saturday Night Live, Colin Quinn) and all were great. My jaws hurt from laughing almost constantly through the night.

Went to an 1130 show. The comedians and host were fantastic. The service was fine. It's crowded in there and our waitresses was mediocre, but the great comedy was well worth it.

Been to the comedy Cellar many times so we wanted to check out the secondary location. This is right around the corner from the original, so basically the same spot. This one has a band set up, maybe a bit bigger, but overall looks the same. We sat right by the stage and enjoyed some up and coming acts and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
