I don’t have anything against Cafe Wha. I love this place, and I grew up in this place. I will point out one thing. Your website says Wednesday has no cover. Your doorman says something else. He said that no cover was more than a...More

I have been coming to Café Wha? since 1991 every time I'm in New York and this time I brought my husband and our daughter to experience the House Band. We were seated in the front and the comedian warming up was your typical NY...More

The house band is amazing and attracts a diverse crowd of music lovers, both locals and tourists. The food, drinks, and service were great, especially considering how busy it was. The history of the place includes the fledgling musicians Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin back...More

A group of us went for tribute to the ladies of neo-soul, Jill Scott, Sade and Lauryn Hill. The singer and band were lively and sounded great. The show was very short though. Then they charge you another $5 to stay for the house band....More

A friend from NYC took me here after we finished our class. Such a wonderful experience with a great band. I'm usually not a fan of live music in a bar. But it wasn't too loud. Cool dark atmosphere and a never ending supply of...More

We pre- booked Cafe Wha for an Earth Wind & Fire/Tina Turner tribute 'night'. We got there at around 7ish. The waitress said we had to leave our credit card details behind the bar which as we were only there for drinks was ridiculous in...More

"Don't look back in anger" ... the whole place sang with the high quality house band.... We're in Manhattan for the weekend and wanted a couple of beers, a supper and live music. Cafe Wha hit the spot. Key points: Get a reservation on their...More

Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.

So sorry only seeing this now. The house band always has different feature singers but the core of the band was the same for us over the 3 years we have been. Style of music is fantastic - very much focused on old classics
