I had to give it one bubble as zero bubbles is not an option.
We went there, on the recommendation of friends, on our last night in NYC. The cover was $35, which was outrageous, but we thought it was going to be good. How...More
I was invited to New York for my first time and went to Birdland for an evening of Jazz and drinks/snacks before dinner, it was an amazing experience with quality Jazz music!! A must experience and it’s right down where everything is happening!
The place is located in the center of Manhattan, where many theaters are located, is big, with many tables and a rather small stage. Food, drinks and service are ok,but you pay extra for everything.

Everyone who knows anything about jazz knows Birdland is a mecca for the best artists.
What may not be known is that in addition to great music, the place offers surprisingly good food and remarkably reasonable prices by New York standards. The servers are

Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

As I recall, there is a dinner period after the crowd is seated. So, the only place to sit and not eat dinner would be the bar. Since the place has an admission cost AND a minimum charge, you should investigate the costs further before you commit. I’m certain that there is a minimum charge at the bar as well, I just don’t know how much. I cannot remember how long after the seating for 5:30 the show begins, however, the show is about an hour long.
