Nice little park in the city. Came across this bird just sitting in the middle of it. Also has a dog park inside it.

If you're in the area this is worth a shirt visit. It is quiet relaxing and good for people watching or grabbing a snack from a local deli and enjoying it watching the dogs play in their little enclosure

We went to this park two times during our NY trip. You can buy food in any close cafe/ restaurant and eat in the park. We enjoyed watching all the dogs in the park as well as the all the squirrels. Bring some nuts with you and they will eat from your hand.

There's not that much to this park except for the local denizens who work and reside around it. Some grreat restaurants nearby.

Visited this park for a second time and rested here in my way to see the Flatiron building. It is a smaller urban city park but has benches, trees and historical statues. It is smack dab in the middle of downtown so there are busy city events around the park. I arrived at the perimeter of the park and saw... More

Having walked down from 42nd Street we were ready for a little rest. This park is perfect for sitting, resting and watching New York. Great views whilst seated of the Empire State Building and the Flatiron Building. Shake Shack in the park is tremendously popular. Queues reaching the perimeter of the park. We only wanted a drink and this had... More

Although relatively small, it offers a lot. It's easy on the eyes with its well-kept grass and trees plus many benches for relaxing, looking around, and reading. It even has a stand that sells take-out food, though that line can be long. What's more, usually a variety of interesting, usually large sculptures are made or loaned out for awhile for... More

This is one of the most historically rich places in the city! The old Boston Road (of Bloomingdale Road) forked here. Union soldiers camped here. Now, one can eat a burger and fries, have a milk shake, sit and enjoy the views. One can walk by the big and little dog park and enjoy the life of the urban dog... More

Madison Square Park was recently cleaned up and revamped, and it's now a very nice park to spend some time in (but way smaller than Central Park).

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
