Agree it is a lovely oasis although it shouldn't be seen as a smokers oasis - it is a relief from the hustle and bustle of the city and a great spot for a coffee with the backdrop of the waterfall/

If you are a smoker and you want to enjoy a smoke with a coffee and relax without being criticized, just visit this small oasis. I visited with my husband who is a smoker and although I am not I enjoyed it as much. The waterfall is so relaxing and dies away the noise of the city; the plants are... More

This nice romantic place is located right in midtown Manhattan and it is a nice serene peaceful getaway from the busy city of New York. Not many people are here so its romantic and there is a nice huge amazing waterfall! Great for pictures and I believe theres a restaurant too but I didn't eat so i'm not too sure... More

We found this place by accident and it was probably our favourite place! It was a hot morning already by 10 o clock with a long day of walking in front of us. This place appeared like a veritable mirage in front of us. Once seated by the cool cascade of water we went up to the kiosk and ordered... More

I worked a few blocks away, and often visited this park at lunchtime, to get away from the stresses of legal work. The water, the trees, the silence ... all refreshed my spirits ... and it was a joy to stop by recently and feel the same peacefulness. One of the most admired urban 'pocket parks' in the world. An... More

What a find. In a city where everything is so horrifically expensive you can have dirt cheap coffee and pastry in a beautiful setting. This was our best find in nyc.

I've been enjoying this park on visits to the City since it opened nearly 50 years ago. At that time I was frequently here because I went to college up the Hudson River. In fact, at that time Paley Park was one of several things that inspired me to become an urban planner. Having not been to the park during... More

So after walking too far without eating food, we spotting this place, with a sign. Cafe, burgers and hotdogs! We were far beyond being picky on what we ate, as long as it wasn't one of those food trucks! Got a hot dog, and some homemade lemonde that absolutely hit the spot! It was also very windy, which was great... More

Growing up in NYC, Paley Park was always a place I loved to hang out. It's still as magical and soothing as ever.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
