Small gallery in a beautiful building. The small permanent collection is well curated. It includes wonderful Klimpt paintings and a great collection of Art Deco fine arts.

We have visited this small museum several times in the past and always have found it to be quite enjoyable and one of the "gems" of the art community. Of course, the star attraction is the Klimt painting, not only for its inherent beauty but...More

Neue Galerie has an amazing permanent collection of early 20th century German and Austrian art. In addition to paintings the collection includes examples of decorative arts from the period. It is small enough that one can appreciate both the permanent collection and any special exhibitions...More

We joined others in going to this gallery to see the Klimt portraits. On their own it was worth the trip, but all other paintings and silverware are simply gorgeous. The cafe is emblematic of being in 1930s Vienna.

I'm not an art connoisseur and only went to see the Gustav Klimt painting of Adele Bloch-Bauer: The Woman in Gold. Yup, looked just like it does in the photos. There were other things to see, and the staff tried to help, but it's just...More

It must be tricky being on New York’s museum mile and competing with the giants of the Met and Guggenheim. However the way you definitely don’t do is the way this pretentious little spot does. Ferocious security (you can’t even take small bottle of water...More

I popped into the Neue Gallery because I wasn’t interested in waiting in an endless line for the Guggenheim. One thinks of the Neue as a limited gallery and it is, in the sense that it features Austrian and German artists and is quite small....More

Very close to the Met so we strolled over and were delighted to discover that because they were between exhibitions there was no set admission. We went up and spent a lot of time looking at the "Woman in Gold." It is a glorious painting....More

Walked in straight off the street. Lost our drink bottles and I can say the Woman in Gold was amazing to see but left a little underwhelmed by the none friendly staff and loosing our water. In and out in less than 20 minutes.
