Great place to get regional seasonal produce. Saturdays. It can get pretty crowded. Today, with the rains it was easily manageable. Ramps in season and bought a lot! Besides greens, stalls sell local wines, cheeses, meats, breads, flowers etc. Also makes for great pictures!

Great to see in the city, love the early morning setup and see how it transforms an urban park into a wonderful community market - wonderful produce direct from supplier to the city.

I loved stopping by. So many vendors with so many great products. Lots of flowers. Beautiful plants. Makes me wish I lived in NYC just so I could come here. We purchased cookies and some really great homemade breads. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies being sold. Everything looked amazing.

I had fun walking around this market, even though I was sad that I could not take advantage of the vegetables and meat being sold, as I was just visiting and had no kitchen. I did pick up some hard cider and apple chips, and loved all the flowers for sale everywhere. It was crowded even on a rainy April... More

Every Monday, Wednesday , Friday and Saturday the Green market is opened from 8 am to 5 PM. Some stores close earlier depending on merchandise left to sell.In July and August , the best tomatoes, corn, garlic and herbs are sold here. There are bakeries with incredible breads and pastries, vintners letting you try their local New York wines, just... More

It was a great day to wonder around and look at all there was to offer for many different merchants. I got the Greenmarket app on my phone to see what vendors were there. I ended up buying a bottle of whiskey from a local distillery.

I have been going here for years but never rated it on TripAdvisor. This green market is my favorite of any I have been to in New York City. Although it is open on a few days during the week (Wednesday, Friday at least), there are not nearly as many local vendors during the week as there are on Saturdays.... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
