What a gem! Our team spent an afternoon at Pizza a Casa for our Holiday outing. The staff, led by Dano, sets a relaxed and upbeat vibe. The great news is that while drinking wine, and making and eating some of the most delicious thin crust pizza we ever tasted, we learned a ton ! The staff is knowledgeable, the... More

I surprised my boyfriend with an evening at Pizza a Casa during our recent trip to NY. It turned out to be the highlight of our holiday. The school opens 15 minutes before the class begins and there is space for bags (in case you've been shopping beforehand like we were!). You can also order drinks at pizza school so... More

I bought this an anniversary gift for my wife so we could enjoy a fun and interactive activity. As it turned out, I made the right decision. As a quick background - We have made pretty good homemade pizza before, but as with most who try, we could never figure out the techniques to make that elusive NYC pizza slice... More

You will enter the pizza classroom for the most fun and delicious four hours ever. You will learn how to make the best pizza you've ever tasted. Mark is a superb showman, with Jenny, and Neil providing seamless backup. This was so much fun!

I adore pizza, but in general, the pizzas served up in UK restaurants are sad, limp, soggy affairs. I therefore decided to book this class as part of a holiday to NYC. In the space of an afternoon, Mark showed us how to produce pizza that far far exceeds the level of any local pizzeria!!! Mark willingly shared his huge... More

I loved everything about this experience. If you want to make great pizza, this is a must (not to mention, it is an absolute blast). The facility is very clean and very well organized with lots of gadgets. Mark, Dano and Tiana are wonderful. Mark has a fountain of knowledge about making pizza and many helpful hints. It is four... I'll start by saying I want to make every Friday pizza night from now on--mostly to practice these awesome skills I just learned. Neil was able to answer both the science and aesthetic questions I had about pizza. That was a major plus! I wish I had known that signing up as a couple meant that you had to share... More

I'm a pizza snob, a native New Yorker who lives outside Toronto. It's virtually impossible to find a good local pizza place around here. What they manage to pass off as pizza is a joke! My wife and I struggled to fill the gap by trying pizza recipes from countless cookbooks. They never came out right. After taking this course,... More

We've been to NYC many times and have done almost everything there is to do - this pizza class is definitely one of our all time favorites! We had an absolute blast. We learned enough to feel completely confident to make pizzas at home. A definite bonus was receiving a booklet to take home, complete with "secret" recipes and all... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
