If you love musicals or just love the NYC you have seen in movies on TV then this street gives a real taste - it just buzzes with energy. If you have the time definitely catch a show! Visit the discount ticket booth on Times Square save yourself a lot of money. I loved Broadway.

There are shows for everyone and every interest. Be sure to check out reduced fee tickets - via lottery or just before the show. If you have a little time and plan well, you do not have to spend a fortune!

Don't miss this when in NYC! Wicked, Book of Mormon, Cats, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, ... there's so much to see! I highly recommend the latter -- it is absolutely brilliant. Discounted tickets can be purchased in advance from TKTS booths.

We chose to see 2 Broadway shows and shop the area during the day as well as a bus tour. We had a blast! We we blessed to get tickets to a sold-out show of "The Play That Went Wrong" as well as "The Fantastiks". We got the tickets at the TKTS 1/2 price ticket booth and loved both plays!

My wife and I enjoyed two shows while in NYC. The Lion King is quite a spectacle. The sets and the costuming take you straight to Africa. The performers and the music are also first rate. This was as fun for us to see as it was for the kids that were there. I would highly recommend it. Be aware... More

We went to a show, A Bronx Tale, it was fantastic! When we came out of the theater, the lights and flashing billboards were all a show of their own! Great photo ops and so much to see!

Broadway bisects Manhattan from way downtown to the Upper West Side. There are lots of important spots along the way, but the theater district is most famous. It's now very clean and safe, so don't stay away. But beware that the crowds are enormous near Times Square making it very hard to walk.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
