Bryant Park has a French-style merry-go-round, open year-round, plus a well-maintained lawn, with chairs and tables. The outdoor Reading Room has picture books and summertime story times. In winter. Take a spin on the free ice-skating rink. The park also has clean bathrooms, a rarity in midtown.

It's always alive, nice places for dining nearby. A coffee in the park's coffee shop is a unique experience in NY.

Lots of seating for the public to meet and chat and picnic and some seriously cool sights and sounds, right in the middle of Midtown.

Plenty of shades and seatings--even restrooms! Next the Library with always free exhibits of print related topics. Enjoy drinks and lite eats, people watching....sure, it's not Paris. But, in Midtown Manhattan...a well placed green space next to a great library. Now, you are recharged, onto...More

This park is quiet and small. The scene after the public library is perfect. I also loved the free games.

A wonderful place to take in NYC. Grab cocktails and great snacks at the restaurant or wander around. There is always an activity going on here. Yoga, music, performers and the TV shows. Tranquil yet definitely NY. A fave spot to stop and breath.

By night, the park is illuminated, it's so romantic and quiet! A lot of table to seat and eat something. This is a really nice tour to do.

We will be spending a few days (Feb 5-10) in NY close to Bryant Park. We're wondering if there are ice skates available for little kids ages 2 and 4. Aside from the rink and carousel, what other activities are available that week? Thanks and we are looking forward to visiting the park soon.

I would say no, Bryant Park is not a good running location. It is small and private to the people who live on the park.
